In 1977 John Crawford co-founded Crawford/Howard Pty Ltd., which later became Crawford Partners in 1992. In 2001, along with his two partners at the time, Stacey Jones and David Murphy, John further transformed the company into an international firm with the creation of Crawford Architects, maintaining offices in Sydney, Australia and Kansas City, Missouri.
He is responsible for Crawford Architects’ management of external relations and strategic planning. At a project level, he ensures that sight of project goals are never lost. He maintains close contact with clients and represents their interests by responding to private and public concerns and ensuring contribution to the public good. John has extensive experience in commercial office building construction and interior tenant projects. He has a particular interest in marketing and feasibility work.

John is a world-class sailor, a director of the Sydney Amateur Sailing Club. He loves sailing, reading about sailing, thinking about sailing and talking like a sailor. But he hates plastic boats.
