Situation:   We were retained to develop preliminary plans and architectural concepts to assist a developer in securing financing for this high-profile 8-unit condominium project in the Country Club Plaza. This is our client’s first development project, and to that end, has requested we have extraordinary involvement from the start to help guide the project through the proper channels. Project parameters include maximizing the building footprint, underground heated parking with 1.5 stalls per unit, no maintenance exterior, sun terraces, and luxury interior amenities and material finishes.

Solution:   Secured courtyard entryways with plush landscaping set the tone. Exterior stucco finishes and natural stone with gracious roof eaves and built-in planters not only evoke Wrightian influences but make for long lasting exteriors and a sensitive approach to the environment. Plan layouts are in an open style concept and have many built-in features that add tremendous value in up-market housing. Warmth on the interior is achieved by focusing the main living area on a beautiful fireplace centerpiece, using natural finishes such as stone, stained wood cabinets, columns, wainscot and ceiling coffers. Indirect lighting with period fixtures will add visual character.

Quick Facts:   Our client is a Frank Lloyd Wright aficionado.

Closing Arguments:   It's hard to beat Plaza living, and we believe something every Kansas Citian should experience at least once in their lives.
