Location: Whale Beach, Sydney, Australia
Nestled into the northern escarpment of Whale Beach, this home has been designed to exploit the views of Whale Beach and the Pacific Ocean, while seeking to capture as much sun from the north as the steep south facing site will permit. The existing 1950's cottage is to be re-cycled to provide an entry, a garage and two generous bedrooms each with en-suite bathroom. A second pavilion containing the living, dining and kitchen spaces, plus a main bedroom and en-suite has been located further down the site, connected to the existing house, but "pulled apart" from it, to allow the sun to enter the house from the rear.
The house is finished in grey stained western red cedar, with white window trims and iron roofing. |
