The University of Northern Iowa desired a first-class arena and recruiting complex that would build support for the basketball, wrestling and volleyball programs, as well as foster campus and community pride.
Complex servicing issues had to be solved to make this project a success. The new arena for the University also acts as an exhibition space with service and public connections to the existing Uni-Dome—the University’s indoor football stadium. A central servicing area will combine facilities for the complex in one location.
The arena is considered one of the best small sports venues in the nation. Bringing the fans as close as possible to the action has proved to be a crucial element of home court advantage contributing tangibly to the Panthers’ recent string of successes.
